fleeting portraits

Portraits appear randomly, suddenly. There they are, caught in our peripheral vision for an instant, telling a story, gifting us with a narrative. We see a portrait, it is beautiful and then quickly becomes a memory. Infrequently and almost as a thief, we catch a portrait as a photo too.
