Pink Triptych

September 16, 2007

One day in early summer a woman picked trumpet blooms and held them in her hands for the camera. Later in the year another woman held a bouquet of pink roses that rested on her pregnant belly. There is little more to say except that the woman who picked the delicate trumpet blooms saw them fold and wilt and so she lined them up to dry with the thought to hang them from a painting on which she was working. The younger woman gave birth to her first child, a son whose middle name is the same as that of his mother’s favorite cat.
